An animal lover I loved very much brought the fat cat that he had always fed in his garden and said that he had no appetite, he did not have pleasure and that he did not always lie where he slept.

He looked sluggish. At the same time, the situation I encountered in his general examination made me ask more questions.

Lymphs could be felt on palpation. On abdominal palpation, there was emphysema and fluctuant diffuse subcutaneous and a very diffuse feeling? This fluid was not in the abdomen. It was still palpable under the skin around the thorax. Body temperature is normal. the lymph is enlarged. Oral examination was normal. mucous membranes were normal. the blood picture signaled a pronounced sepsis. Platalet cells seemed to be increased. Abdominal examination was not sufficient to evaluate internal organs.

Between her hairs, a scar tissue was coming to me on her left abdomen.

A small puncture made under the skin showed itself with endless pus. I realized that this fluctuant structure, which rapidly accumulates under the skin, was a pool of pus that covered the entire skin. Although the abdominal cavity did not seem to be infected with this fluid, in fact, it could be seen in blood values where it was seriously concerned, and it could be seen on the x-ray to spread under the whole skin.

I made a wider incision to remove the purulent fluid that accumulated under the skin, and washed with saline suitable for body temperature, and provided an area suitable for the drains and exudates to be discharged and removed. I started intravenous feeding and antibiotic application and ensured the protection of body temperature.

I learned about how this could be done and I realized that a year ago, our animal lover, who was trying to treat a wound on his left abdomen himself, applied the scary pomades that could quickly heal the wound he saw, and the wound was closed. However, there was an infection that was creeping under the skin, and he had never realized this for a year. However, the incident broke out when the cat’s body became too dusk to fight this infection anymore. I was in a daze, I can almost say that it was my most interesting case.

Always consult your veterinarian before applying any medication.
